De United by Music artiest Albertine van Walsem zal samen met medewerkster Margareth Kamermans en Anouk Boers naar Amerika gaan voor het Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland, Oregon. Dit schrijft het festival over United by Music:

United by Music - now in it's sixth successful year of performances and programs in The Netherlands, South Africa, Belgium, Ireland and Germany - is honored to present a Showcase Performance on the FedEx Workshop Stage at Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival. Performing on this stage will be Pacific Northwest favorites Karen Lovely, Lady "A", Peter Dammann, Mac Potts and more.  Featured performer from United by Music, coming from The Netherlands for the festival, is Albertine van Walsem. Albie has performed in numerous festivals in Europe and is in the cast of Dutch television show Down met (with) Johnny Rocks. Margareth Kamermans, United by Music's Communications and Fundraising Coordinator, will be accompanying Albie and photographer, Anouk Boers on their first visit to the United States.
 
United by Music is a program originated in The Netherlands, designed for talented people with intellectual and physical disabilities to learn and play blues music live on stage with professional musicians for general audiences. Through a series of auditions and training, the United by Music company demonstrates that everyone has a wide range of abilities and, if given a chance and proper training, can soar in accomplishment. Portland, Oregon was selected by United by Music founder, Joris van Wijngaarden and United by Music North American Director, Barbara Hammerman as one of only three locations in the United States to launch the North American initiative. "We truly believe United by Music can be the Special Olympics of Music," says Hammerman. A very special announcement will be made during this performance by festival co-producer, Peter Dammann.
